Meter Reading
In 1997, the LCWSC replaced an aging meter system which required customers to read their own water meters. The new system, which is employed by water systems across the country, uses radio telemetry equipment. This equipment provides an efficient cost-effective way for LCWSC employees to read meters.

The new system is used in conjunction with a recording system which checks meter readings on a monthly basis. LCWSC customers are divided into four billing areas and four billing cycles. Meters in Area I are read on the first Monday of the month. Meters in Area II are read on the second Monday, Area III on the third Monday, and Area IV on the fourth Monday. Bills for each area are mailed on the Friday following the day of reading. If you are unsure of your billing cycle, please contact our office for assistance.
