Sealed bids for the construction of Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure System Improvements will be received by Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission, P.O. Box 1006, Laurens, SC 29360, Thursday, October 29, 2009 until 2:00 PM and then, at said place and time, publicly opened and read aloud.
Composition of work is as follows: Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure System Improvements
HWY 76 / CLINTON AREA LIFT STATION REHAB. PROJECT
Contractor to provide and completely install the listed equipment and related appurtenances at each of the following lift stations listed below.
- Beards Fork Lift Station (See Technical Specification Section A.)
- Bush River Lift Station (See Technical Specification Section B.)
- Millers Fork Lift Station (See Technical Specification Section C.)
- Sand’s Creek Lift Station (See Technical Specification Section D.)
- Hwy. 76 Lift Station (See Technical Specification Section E.)
The specification of listed equipment in this document for each lift station is the recommendation of the owner/engineer. Alternatives can be submitted for approval, but will be included as a deduction on the original bid schedule, not an approved equal. If the product is accepted for use, that deduction will be taken from the original bid price.

Prospective bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid conference on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM.
Copies of the Contract Documents may also be obtained by prospective bidders and suppliers upon application to the Engineer, along with a non-refundable payment of $200.00 per set.
This project is being funded by a loan from the State Revolving Fund (SRF), and all Bidders must comply with all applicable state and federal requirements identified in the Contract documents.
All prospective BIDDERS must implement procedures that ensure that disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) firms are given opportunities for meaningful participation if subcontracts are awarded, with a fair share goal of 8% of the funds awarded.
